Neurox

Composition: One 2 ml ampoule contains the active ingredient ethylmethylhydroxypyridine succinate 100 mg. One 5 ml ampoule contains ethylmethylhydroxypyridine succinate 250 mg. Excipients: sodium metabisulphite, water for injections.

Form: Solution for intravenous and intramuscular injection

Indications: • Acute cerebrovascular disorders, as part of combination treatment. • Traumatic brain injury and its sequelae. • Dyscirculatory encephalopathy. • Autonomic (neurocirculatory) dystonia syndrome. • Mild cognitive impairment of atherosclerotic origin. • Anxiety disorders in neurotic and neurosis-like conditions. • Acute myocardial infarction, from day one, as part of combination treatment. • Primary open-angle glaucoma at various stages, as part of combination treatment. • Relief of alcohol withdrawal syndrome with predominantly neurosis-like and autonomic-vascular disorders. • Acute intoxication with antipsychotic medicines.

Contraindications: • Individual hypersensitivity to the medicine or its components. • Acute renal failure. • Acute hepatic failure. • Pregnancy. • Breastfeeding. • Childhood. Use with caution in a history of allergic diseases or reactions, including hypersensitivity to sulphites.

Dosage: IV (drip or jet in 0.9% NaCl) or IM: - Stroke and TBI: 200–500 mg 2–4 times/day for 10–14 days, then IM 200–250 mg 2–3 times/day for 2 weeks; - Encephalopathy: IV 200–500 mg 1–2 times/day for 14 days, then IM 200–250 mg for 10–14 days; - Anxiety and dystonia: IM 50–400 mg/day for 14 days; - Myocardial infarction: 6–9 mg/kg/day, max 1200 mg/day.

Side effects: Dry mouth, metallic taste, throat heat and scratchiness, chest discomfort, shortness of breath (during rapid infusion); possible allergy, insomnia or drowsiness, bloating, nausea.

Interactions: Enhances the effects of benzodiazepines, antiepileptic and antiparkinsonian drugs, nitrates. Reduces alcohol toxicity.

Warnings: May cause drowsiness — avoid driving. Discontinue immediately in case of hypotension or allergy. Contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.

Age restrictions: 18+

Pregnancy: Contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
