

Composition: One tablet contains: Active ingredient: acetylcysteine 600 mg. Excipients: citric acid 680 mg, sodium bicarbonate 500 mg, aspartame 20 mg, lemon flavouring 100 mg.
Form: Effervescent tablets.
Indications: A mucolytic for acute and chronic respiratory diseases associated with excessive bronchial secretions: bronchitis, tracheitis, bronchiolitis, pneumonia, bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis, lung abscess, pulmonary emphysema, laryngotracheitis, interstitial lung diseases, and pulmonary atelectasis due to bronchial obstruction by a mucus plug. Catarrhal and purulent otitis, maxillary sinusitis and sinusitis (to facilitate drainage of secretions). Removal of viscous respiratory secretions following trauma and surgery.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to acetylcysteine; exacerbation of gastric or duodenal ulcer; phenylketonuria; children under 18 years of age; breastfeeding. Use with caution in gastric or duodenal ulcer, oesophageal varices, haemoptysis, pulmonary haemorrhage, bronchial asthma, adrenal disorders, hepatic and/or renal impairment, and arterial hypertension.
Dosage: Oral administration. Adults: dissolve one 600 mg effervescent tablet in 1/3 glass of water and take once daily. The duration of treatment should be assessed individually. For acute diseases, treatment lasts 5–10 days; for chronic diseases, up to several months, as recommended by a physician.
Side effects: Headache, tinnitus, tachycardia, vomiting, diarrhea, dyspepsia, allergic reactions, bronchospasm, hypotension. Very rarely — Stevens-Johnson and Lyell’s syndromes.
Interactions: Incompatible with antitussives. Avoid simultaneous use with antibiotics (tetracyclines, ampicillin, amphotericin B) — observe 2-hour interval. Enhances effect of nitroglycerin. Activated charcoal reduces acetylcysteine’s effectiveness.
Warnings: Use with caution in asthma, peptic ulcer, esophageal varices, hypertension. Do not use metal utensils for mixing. May interfere with lab tests (ketones, salicylates).
Age restrictions: 18 years and older
Pregnancy: Allowed only if benefits outweigh risks, under medical supervision. Breastfeeding should be discontinued during use.
